Now that the open recruiting period is upon us, college football programs are taking note of what their peers are doing. One Central Kentucky football player didn’t even have a recruiting profile a week ago. Now he has a Power Five scholarship offer and the attention of every school in the area.

Kaden Moorman enjoyed an exceptional sophomore season at Franklin County. A physical running back, he punched in two touchdowns and caught five passes for the Flyers before they ultimately lost an overtime heartbreaker to Boyle County in the 4A State Championship Game at Kroger Field. He finished the year with 606 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns in 11 games.

Moorman’s performance caught the eyes of the coaching staff at Wisconsin. A program that’s known for developing bruising runners, they invited Moorman to Camp Randall for an unofficial visit where he received his first scholarship offer.

That offer will surely be the first of many for Moorman. Cincinnati, Louisville and Purdue have all expressed interest. Moorman could camp in Lexington this weekend, opening the door for a Kentucky scholarship offer.

This offseason Mark Stoops poached Wisconsin’s running backs coach. Now the Badgers are trying to pull a physical running back from right out of Stoops’ backyard. An elite tackle-breaker, we’ll be tracking Moorman’s recruitment closely in the coming years. In the meantime, grab some popcorn and enjoy some high quality football highlights.
