How've you been? Did you have a nice holiday? Remember New Year's Eve? Man, that was crazy. You were so drunk! And I can't believe you ATE THAT. I totally have pictures. Let me know your email address and I'll Snapfish you. BFF!
Good to join you again, gang. Seems like ages. Things have been cooking in the NTKW office here at the compound. Everything's bustling. A giant map of the country with flashing red lights on it continues to flash, our giant media mogul-esque wall of TVs continues to display all the current sports and political news, and Hubby made a pie. It's in the breakroom, and it's delicious.
So what's been going on in the past few weeks? Well, the Cats continue to do whatever's the opposite of dazzling, Ohio State once again proved themselves to be outmatched by the SEC, and Hawaii turned out to be not as good as everyone who can't stay up late at night thought. And various KSR employees have been fueling their own New Year's Resolutions, like Matt (don't be Samoan), Turkey Hunter (no more hot air ballooning) and the Intern (less murdering). Plus, you can follow fellow KSR staffer Mosley and I on this season's The Biggest Loser: Couples Edition!
But enough about that, let's talk about the year in review, during NTKW's super-fantastic 2008 YEAR IN REVIEW. It's been a crazy year, to be sure. Some notables:
The Kentucky Wildcats only played one basketball game, and they lost. We've never seen a year in which the Wildcats went 0-1 until 2008. In other sports, the LSU Tigers Football team was an amazing 1-0! That's undefeated in 2008!
Mary J. Blige's hit Growing Pains was number one for all of 2008. 2008 was good for Mary, as no one could knock her off the pedestal. Latin artist Juanes also held the number one spot for all of '08 with his sultry Me Anemora. And in Hot Adult Contemporary, only two artists held a number one spot - Colbie Caillat's Bubbly and Josh Groban's I'll Be Home For Christmas. 2008 was a crazy year for music!
Apparently, only one movie was important in 2008, and that movie was National Treasure: Book of Secrets! No word yet on Oscar nominations, but it's going to be hard to overlook a movie that topped the charts all year! The people have spoken!
2008 was the year it rained every Tuesday! I know Al Gore likes to talk about the weather a lot with power point presentations, but he needs to be alerted to this alarming weather trend!
In 2008, people who get paid every two weeks didn't get paid! Such dire economic trends are sure to garner the attention of our next President, who would do well to address this situation of widespread poverty for the year.
2008 sure has been a crazy ride. But it's nice to look back. Keep doin' what you're doin', friends, and Tomlin will be back to see you again next week. Until then, enjoy watching an idiot interview Holly Hunter:
