With an offer sheet that featured the likes of Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami (FL), and many, many others, Grant Bingham elected to stay home. Staying home was arguably the biggest selling point for Bingham, a consensus four-star offensive line prospect from Johnson Central (Paintsville, KY) who committed to play for the in-state Kentucky Wildcats during Thursday's show of Kentucky Sports Radio. Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing around 300 pounds, Bingham made his decision live on the air and discussed why he chose the 'Cats. "I'm from Kentucky, it's my home," Bingham said on KSR. "The great people of Kentucky, I would love to play in front of them with the crazy crowd in Lexington and just be home. Be home." https://twitter.com/GrantBingham2/status/1377645564817518593 Rated as one of the five best players across the Bluegrass State from the class of 2022, Bingham has legitimate NFL aspirations and more immediate potential to make an impact as part of the next generation's Big Blue Wall. He's been familiar with the Kentucky coaching staff for a while now, long before Eric Wolford took over as the new offensive line coach. Even when Wolford was at South Carolina before joining the Wildcat staff this past December, he had a relationship with Bingham that carried over to Lexington. "The coaching staff feels like family almost. Playing in your home state and representing the great people of Kentucky, you can't beat it," Bingham added. "I wanted to stay home and we got something special coming." Associate head coach Vince Marrow has long been hot Bingham's trail as well. On Wednesday night, he even teased that the announcement was coming. Bingham has impressed by the Big Dog's year-long pitch to come to Kentucky. "He's one of the best to do it and I'm glad that we got him on our side," Bingham said of Coach Marrow. You can listen to Bingham's entire segment on KSR below.
