Nick Saban still hoping Damien Harris will play

We likely won't know Damien Harris' game status until kickoff on Saturday, but Nick Saban is still holding out hope Harris will be a go for the Crimson Tide. On his weekly call-in show last night, Saban told his listeners, “Damien did twist his ankle a little bit, but he was able to practice this week. We’re hopeful that he’ll be able to go in the game, but we have confidence in those other three guys, as well.” Harris is Alabama's leading rusher and he ranks second in the conference with 8.6 yards per carry. Alabama will be fine with its stable of backs if he's unable to go against the Cats, but this is the last game on the schedule Harris wants to miss. With a crazy difficult four-game slate after the UK game, you gotta think Saban will keep Harris sidelined if it's a close call. Or he may just let his starting back run wild on his home state school and runner-up in his recruitment. We wish nothing but the best for Harris, but we wouldn't mind seeing him sit this one out. I don't think the state of Kentucky is ready to watch him rush for 200 yards against UK.
