Oscar Tshiebwe has already carved out a special place in the hearts of the Big Blue Nation. The first ever unanimous National Player of the Year for the Kentucky Wildcats returned for another season to win a National Title. Not only can he provide joy on the hardwood, Tshiebwe can also fill your pockets with money.

This Tshiebwe is not an Oscar, it’s a horse. This Saturday Churchill Downs is hosting a special one-day meet for the Arlington Million. Tshiebwe is featured in the undercard, racing from post No. 7 in the sixth race. It’s a quality maiden race for two-year-olds with a $120,00 purse. Tshiebwe is one of 12 entries for the 6 furlong race on the Churchill Downs dirt.

This is Tshiebwe’s horse racing debut for Winstar Farm. Sired by Race Day, Tshiebwe is trained by Rodolphe Brisset and will be ridden by one of the best jockeys in America, Florent Geroux.

Post time is set for 3:35 pm EST. Even though you probably will not get to bet Tshiebwe at a good price, keeping this maiden out of my multi-race wagers will be irresistible. Shortly after Tshiebwe hits the track, Oscar will be playing game three in the Bahamas at 6 pm on the SEC Network.

A Unique Day of Horse Racing at Churchill Downs

The gates at Churchill Downs are typically closed to the general public for racing in August. This year they’re making a one-day exception for the Arlington Million. Since 1981 the 1 1/8 mile Grade I Stakes on turf was the premiere race day at Arlington Racetrack outside of Chicago. Twin Spires recently sold the course and its large track of land to the Chicago Bears to build a new football stadium.

Instead of letting Arlington Million Day die, Twin Spires is bringing the stacked 11-race card to Churchill Downs for one day only. Gates open at 11:30 am, the first post is at 12:45 pm and general admission tickets can be purchased for $14. Prepare accordingly for a day of horse racing unlike any other.
