After hosting a significant number of Blue Chip prospects for Junior Day, Kentucky picked up a big win on the recruiting trail. Quintin Simmons, a four-star talent out of Cincinnati, announced he will be a Wildcat.

Simmons chose Kentucky over Michigan and Penn State. His other finalists included Cincinnati, West Virginia, and Syracuse.

It’s early in the 2025 recruiting cycle, but Simmons is already considered one of the top players from the state of Ohio. He’s ranked as the No. 287 overall player in the country and the 12th-ranked prospect from the Buckeye State, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

He is the second commitment in Kentucky’s 2025 recruiting class, joining three-star Pennsylvania quarterback Stone Saunders.

Vince Marrow returned to Cincinnati Withrow High School to log a second consecutive four-star win at the school. The second highest-ranked player in the Cats’ 2024 recruiting class, Terhyon Nichols, played cornerback for Withrow last fall.

Even though they lined up on different sides of the line of scrimmage, Nichols and Simmons worked together on special teams. Simmons logged touchdowns as a return man. He also took handoffs out of the backfield for scores, and shined at wide receiver while playing alongside Chris Henry Jr., who’s widely regarded as the top wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class.

Simmons has spent his high school career surrounded by top-notch talent and made sure to steal some of their limelight by creating big plays. The explosive playmaker has exceptional speed. Operating primarily from the slot, he is not hesitant to knife through traffic to reach the open field.

Even though Kentucky does not currently have an offensive coordinator, Vince Marrow has logged a significant recruiting win for the Wildcats’ offense. This is a spectacular start for Kentucky’s 2025 recruiting efforts.
