Rajon Rondo Fractures Thumb in NBA Bubble

Walt Disney World’s NBA Bubble opened its doors to players less than a week ago and Rajon Rondo has already suffered a significant setback.
The Louisville native and former Kentucky Wildcat fractured his thumb in practice. He will undergo surgery, sidelining the point guard for six to eight weeks.
It’s good news-bad news situation for the Los Angeles Lakers. The bad news is that Avery Bradley already opted out of playing in the Bubble. Rondo’s injury puts L.A. behind the 8-ball in the backcourt. The good news is that at least Rondo’s injury happened early in the process. Rondo’s timetable for return puts him back on the hardwood right in the middle of the playoffs. If all goes according to plan, he could join LeBron James and Anthony Davis in time for the Western Conference Finals.
