Can we get a round of applause for Rhyne Howard, the now two-time SEC Player of the Year? Kentucky's superstar was named the league's best women's basketball player for a second consecutive season, as voted on by the coaches around the SEC. Only a junior, Howard won the league's Freshman of the Year award in 2018-19, the Player of the Year award in 2019-20 and now a repeat of the Player of the Year honors, in addition to three straight selections to the All-SEC First Team. Howard is only the third player in UK history to earn All-SEC First-Team honors from league coaches three times, joining good company in former standouts Makayla Epps and Leslie Nichols. She is one of only two UK players to hit 1,500 career points prior to their senior season; the other is Valerie Still, the school's all-time leading scorer. The fun didn't stop with Rhyne Howard. UK's Chasity Patterson made the SEC All-Defensive Team, her second conference honor after she was named the SEC’s Sixth Woman of the Year last season. Read plenty more on UK's two All-SEC performers in the release on UK's website here.
