Saturday Morning Links

17269 Morning boys and girls! You get me all day, so get excited. Since Matt handed me the keys today, I thought I'd change things up a bit. I've hired an interior decorator to spruce up the site (I'm thinking pink background w/ glittery lettering that will basically slow the site to a standstill) and I'll be live blogging the "Real Housewives of Orange County" marathon starting later today. So enjoy your shot of estrogen, but let's not mention to your wives/girlfriends you're spending the day with another girl. I'm not sure they'd understand. Links for your Saturday morning pleasure: -Check out the Herald Leader's Andy Mead on the fall of Rupp Arena's attendance records. Warning: he uses the words "Rubberena" and "vomitories". -USA today conducted a live chat with their college basketball experts and Kentucky is discussed at length. Tim Gardner, their online college editor had this to say:
I'll say this about Kentucky. The ‘Cats are the only unbeaten left and (assuming they take care of business vs. Arkansas this weekend), will slide up to No. 1 in next week's poll.
Now that is insight I would pay $19.95 a month to subscribe to. -And just because it makes me laugh, Cracked.com explores what would happen if Hollywood gave everything a gritty remake. Sesame Street, Curious George, and Saved by the Bell included. -Mark Yost has a new book out exploring the corruption he believes the NCAA is built on and builds a whole chapter around the fact that college coaches aren't really overpaid since they bring so much publicity to the universities. (Read an excerpt here). And of course Memphis writers can't help but connect it to their ex. -Mr. Parrish predicts that the Cats will handle Arkansas today and move up to number one on Monday. -I happen to be a big fan of The Soup, and now there's a new show called Sports Soup on some random channel that I actually get. I don't know why John Daly is on there, but he does a pretty funny bit on Brucie Pearl. -Fox Sports apparently previews the Arkansas/Kentucky game today and barely mentions Arkansas in the article. -The Courier Journal's Brett Dawson writes that this UK team is more concerned with wins than with rankings. -The Cats aren't taking Arkansas lightly, the Kentucky Kernel reports. -Unless and until the Wildcats lose, every week there are going to be a thousand articles titled "Is [Insert current opponent] primed to take down #1 Kentucky?" We really should just create a template. The Slophouse wonders if Arkansas can take us down today, though they admit it would be a "minor miracle".   Don't forget the Live blog with Matt starting at 3:30 today.  Lets roast some hogs!
