SEC Nation skips Missouri for Kentucky at Ole Miss

The SEC Nation crew is traveling to Oxford this weekend, with Paul Finebaum, Roman Harper, Jordan Rodgers, Tim Tebow and Laura Rutledge set to preview Kentucky’s road matchup at Ole Miss on Saturday.

The only top-15 matchup of Week 5 in the SEC, it’s no shock the SEC Network’s weekly pregame show chose to cover the Wildcats vs. Rebels. What’s interesting, though, is that Oxford wasn’t the network’s first choice.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, SEC Nation was scheduled to visit Columbia this weekend for Missouri’s game vs. top-ranked Georgia, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m. EST on SEC Network.

Following the team’s overtime loss at Auburn, though, the network decided to cancel its scheduled travel plans to Columbia and make the move to Oxford. Missouri moved to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in SEC play after the loss and now enters this weekend’s matchup as 28.5-point underdogs.

The Tigers were blown out at Kansas State 40-12 in Week 2, with the team’s lone victories being vs. Louisiana Tech (55-24) and Abilene Christian (34-17).

SEC Nation is not scheduled to travel to Columbia for another game this season, including when Kentucky takes on Missouri in November. The popular college football pregame show has not visited Mizzou since Eli Drinkwitz took over as head coach in 2020. He sits at 13-14 overall with just one bowl appearance — a loss in the Arms Forces Bowl in 2021 — during his time in Columbia.

Instead, the SEC Nation crew will be live from Oxford to preview No. 12 Ole Miss hosting No. 7 Kentucky. Marty & McGee will get the morning rolling at 9:00 a.m. EST on the SEC Network followed by SEC Nation from 10:00 a.m. to noon EST.

Making the early trip to Oxford? The Paul Finebaum Show is set to take place at The Grove, with #FinebaumFriday live from 3-7 p.m. EST.

Kentucky will take on Ole Miss at the conclusion of the SEC Nation broadcast on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for noon EST on ESPN.
