SEC to start new television network???

by:Matt Jones06/25/06
Fresh on the heels of news that the Big 10 is going global, the SEC has decided to join the conference of boring, foul-plagued games by looking into creating its own television sports network. According to reports, the SEC sees this network as an opportunity to allow second-tier basketball and football (aka Ole Miss) games to have a television home and to allow lower sports to be seen by literally dozens in the southern region. For those of you that dont know, this whole concept was begun by the Mountain West conference who, when not engaging in their blood feud with the WAC for late-night supremacy over the state of Utah, have had such a network for a few years. As you can see, I put a picture of the cast of Entourage on here in part because it is my favorite show and you need to be watching it if you are not, but also because the new SEC network is promising "original" programming to entertain the masses. I have absolutely no notion of what this could be, but taking the theme of Entourage, I am thinking a new Entourage, starring Joakim Noah, Glen Davis, Renaldo Balkman and of course Woo, as a group of up and coming bizarre big men, who attempt to meet women and try to compete to look the least bizarre. Better yet, it can be a traveling show, like Road Rules where the guys each go to visit each other homelands, with Noah in the Dominican, Woo in Poland, Big Baby in the war zone of New Orleans and Renaldo on Mars. I see big things for this network and think it is only a matter of time before it gets big and "Back Waxing with Bruce Pearl" and the "Rod Barnes Dance Party" sweep the nation.
