THUMBNAILS - Sources Say

What a week it’s been for UK Athletics — and it’s only getting crazier. It started with move-in and camp season for Kentucky basketball, our first chance to meet the new Wildcats and welcome back the returning talent. Then you had the ultimate Friday news dump when Judge Claudia Wilken finally approved the House v. NCAA settlement that will allow schools to pay student-athletes directly for the very first time starting July 1.

That’s a game-changer for the basketball program under Mark Pope, and Sources Say will explain why.

Also, how about Vince Marrow leaving for Louisville? That’s also a game-changer for the football program, and it ties into the revenue sharing conversation as athletic departments look to slice the pie with Kentucky pushing back on the SEC’s desire for blanket percentages. It’s not a basketball vs. football conversation necessarily, but rather the Wildcats’ push for year-by-year flexibility.

Don’t forget about today’s update that challenges and continuation are coming to college basketball — but the wait for quarters vs. halves continues. We also spoke with Otega Oweh and Brandon Garrison on Tuesday. Anything noteworthy there? Oweh’s haircut was a bigger story than you’d expect.

All of that and more today on Sources Say. Tune in below:
