Notes sans podcast... --- UK assistant Orlando Antigua called Montrezl Harrell once he was released from Virginia Tech to let him know Kentucky wanted to throw its name into the mix for his newly opened recruitment. But after comments from Harrell's father today, that might be as far as it is going to go. Papa Harrell listed Louisville, Cincinnati, Alabama and Florida as favorites for his son, while Illinois, Arkansas, LSU, Pittsburgh and South Carolina are other interested schools. With the late release from the Hokies, Montrezl is forced to make a speedy decision and he hopes to do so soon. If his father's list is any indication, Kentucky won't be the destination. --- With Kentucky seemingly out of contention for Harrell, UK's roster is likely set for next season, unless Tony Trocha reclassifies to 2012. If you recall, Coach Cal made a visit to see Trocha in Houston back in March to see what he was all about. Despite a pretty solid game, the 6'10, 220-lb. big man has flown under the radar since transferring to St. Thomas High School from Colombia earlier this year. We know Cal wants to add one more, so his lack of interest in Montrezl Harrell could mean he expects Trocha to make the jump to the class of 2012. --- In world news, USA Basketball director Jerry Colangelo isn't going to let all the injuries to his squad bother him, and that's why he's thankful for a pool of talent to pull from, specifically Anthony Davis. “In a perfect world, we wouldn’t have any injuries,” Colangelo told the New York Times. “But injuries have already eliminated some players. Circumstances might eliminate others. That’s the whole concept of having a pool. That’s why it works. By way of example, I’m intrigued by Anthony Davis.” Davis is competing for a spot on the 12-man Olympic roster that'll be named on July 7th. --- The NBA All-Rookie team was announced this afternoon and Brandon Knight made the list of six, thanks to a tie for the final spot with the Knicks' Iman Shumpert. Kyrie Irving had the most votes with 58, followed by Ricky Rubio (49), Kenneth Faried (46) and Klay Thompson (43). Knight finished 8th in the Rookie of the Year voting. --- As Stuart Hammer mentioned earlier, Kentucky's win over Ole Miss this morning means the Bat Cats advance in the SEC tourney to play the winner of LSU vs. Arkansas/Mississippi State on Thursday.  --- No podcast today, but here is a picture of Adam Morrison to keep you busy.
