Stop what you're doing and enjoy Kentucky's blowout with #TheJourney

If you’re like me, you’ve been waiting impatiently for #TheJourney since Kentucky‘s blowout win vs. Alabama went final. It’s the best part of every win and it’s really not close. You get a behind-the-scenes look at the build-up, the in-the-moment and the wrap-up, riding the wave emotions with the Cats in real-time.

The time has finally come to celebrate. And it’s absolutely, positively better than you could ever imagine.

Yes, I know I say that with every #TheJourney video. No, I don’t care. But trust me when I say this one is different.

“If you need to be motivated to play in this one, I’m sorry, you just ain’t built for this,” Chin Coleman told the team ahead of tipoff.

And then we got a look at the gameplan, executed nearly to perfection: “25 threes attempted, let’s hold them to ten this half,” John Calipari said before the Cats ultimately allowed 17 in the game overall with just six makes.

“We may have to outscore these dudes,” Calipari said in a follow-up timeout. “That’s fine, I don’t care. We’ll play how we’ve got to play.”

Nailed that one too.

From celebrating big performances from Justin Edwards and Zvonimir Ivisic to the players acknowledging at halftime they choked away a 15-point lead at LSU and had to come out of the break looking to end it in the opening segment.

Got it.

“Sometimes I don’t think you realize how much I believe in this group. My thought before we went to LSU, what was my thought? ‘We’re going to be in first place here real soon.’ Because that’s how good we are,” Calipari said in the locker room after the win. “We gave one away because we didn’t have guys locked in. We let the guys that want to be the jokers joke us. We didn’t have the same attitude, weren’t locked in the way we were today.”

Soak it all in below.

Watch that on repeat until tipoff in Starkville. Then let’s do it again.
