After landing some impact players last year via the transfer portal, it’s becoming clear that college football free agency will be a tool that Kentucky uses moving forward. During the offseason, Mark Stoops and his coaching staff added eight scholarship transfers to the roster.

A pair of them have been listed as top-100 transfers by The Athletic.

66.) Tayvion Robinson

The former top-500 recruit out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Cox, Tayvion Robinson spent three seasons at Virginia Tech playing for head coach Justin Fuente. The slot receiver has started 30 games in his career with 113 career receptions for 1,555 yards and eight touchdowns. Robinson has also been a dynamic punt returner, and the Virginia Tech staff used the wideout as a rusher on jet sweep concepts as a true freshman.

The transfer is a consistent playmaker who is a legitimate NFL prospect entering the 2022 season. Robinson appeared on the Senior Bowl Watchlist and is the heavy favorite to be WR1 for Will Levis this season after the wideout was limited with average to below-average quarterback play in the ACC.

Don’t be surprised if Tavyion Robinson makes a push for All-SEC honors.

87.) Keidron Smith

Kentucky looked to upgrade its secondary in the offseason and did it by adding three players from the transfer portal. Ole Miss transfer Keidron Smith was the biggest name of the group.

The South Florida native spent four seasons in the SEC playing in 47 games with 29 starts. The cornerback brings size (6-2, 204) and durability to the table after never missing a game while playing in the brutal SEC West. After playing a safety role last season, Smith is making the move back to outside cornerback in Lexington.

The super senior seems to be CB3 at the moment for Kentucky trailing redshirt sophomore Andru Phillips in a heated position battle. Regardless, the veteran will play a role for the Wildcats this fall and gives defensive coordinator Brad White some much-needed depth in the secondary.
