Is Kentucky football the Super Bowl for Tennessee this year?

When the Wildcats head down to Knoxville this Saturday to take on No. 3 ranked Tennessee, they’ll go up against a different-looking opponent than usual. The Vols unveiled their “Dark Mode” uniforms for this weekend’s nighttime kickoff at Neyland Stadium, which will feature the players wearing an all-black uniform — including a black helmet — for the first time in program history, per Chad Fields.

Unfortunately, the uniform combination is rather clean…

Tennessee traditionally wears orange and white as the team’s primary colors, but they’ll bring back the all-black look for a showdown against Kentucky. This will be the first time all season that Tennessee isn’t wearing orange or white as a primary uniform color. This is also the first time UT has ever worn a black helmet.

With No. 19 Kentucky coming to town, the undefeated Vols decided they needed an extra boost. Sounds like someone might be scared…

Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7:00 p.m. EST on ESPN.
