The Big Blue Road Trip: Charlotte and Jacksonville

by:Keifer Winings01/26/16
Char 4 Well, the last two games have been a little more encouraging than the Auburn game. We watched the Arkansas game with the alumni club in Charlotte and the Vanderbilt game in Jacksonville with the club there. The Charlotte club, who usually gets together for every weekend game, has their watch parties at a bar called Sips, which is right downtown. We had a good turnout especially for a Thursday night game. Char 3 The management at Sips works well with the Charlotte Alumni Club. They have specials on drinks and hang up banners and flags, as well as giving fans their own place to watch the game, whether it is upstairs or downstairs. Char 2 We were a little nervous about the weather because Charlotte was supposed to get a lot of ice sometime that night, but mother nature held out long enough for us to finish the game and hang out a little bit afterwards. Char 1 And congrats on the big win in the NFC championship, Charlotte. Have fun. Jacksonville 1 After Charlotte we drove down to Jacksonville, Florida to find warm weather. Oh, and UK fans, of course. Jacksonville 9 We didn't really find the warm weather (it got down in the thirties at night) but we did find the UK fans. A lot of them. Jacksonville 5 The Jacksonville club meets at a Buffalo Wild Wings connected to the Avenues Mall. It is a pretty large place and on Saturday UK fans took over. At least half of the restaurant was blue. Florida fans looked over in confusion when they heard eighty people yelling “Go Big Blue” or doing the CATS cheer. Jacksonville 3 If you find yourselves in either of these cities, stop in at either of their watch party locations and check out a game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQH3vVNFo80
