The Big Blue Road Trip: Sarasota

by:Keifer Winings02/02/16
Sarasota 4 The outcome wasn't what we wanted, but that Kansas game was fun. We watched the game with the Sarasota Alumni Club at a place called Evie’s on the Range. Along with being a restaurant/bar there is a (hence the name) driving range out back. Have dinner, watch the game, and then hit a bucket of balls. Sounds like a good evening. Sarasota 1 new The club in Sarasota knows how to have fun. There were around 100 fans and we all but took over Evie’s. There was a six-foot blow up Wildcat along with several flags and posters set up around the room. Sota 2 The club meets frequently for UK games. They have a good relationship with Evie’s and have even turned many of the waiters and waitresses into UK fans. We caught them a few times yelling the Cats cheer or “Go Big Blue”. Sota 1 Not only do they have a great alumni club, but also the number one beach in America, Siesta Key. Sarasota 7 If you ever find yourself in Sarasota during a Cats game, come hang out with the alumni club and then head on over to the beach! Sarasota 11 new Follow the trip on Twitter!
