How did Kentucky pull off the unimaginable, turning a 10-point lead with 1:26 to go into a one-point deficit with six seconds to go, only for Otega Oweh to take it coast-to-coast for the game-winner against his former school for the second time in 15 days? The Journey is here to take you behind the scenes of that magical shot to send the Wildcats to the SEC Tournament quarterfinals.

The players said after the game Mark Pope told them to get the ball to Oweh and get out of the way — and they weren’t lying.

“We’ll make this super simple,” Pope told his players in the final huddle. “(Otega), I want you on the catch, I want you downhill and I want you at the rim. Now, you have a lot of time, so once you get down here, you’ll have Koby (Brea) in the corner if you need him and Collin Chandler is going to follow behind. AC (Andrew Carr) is going to follow as a dive guy.

“Just go make a play. We’re going to go win the game right here.”

Pope nailed it, Oweh sinking the off-balanced left-handed runner to send his old school home and push his new school to the next round.

It’s eight minutes and 34 seconds of greatness you need in your life as we inch closer to tip-off between the Wildcats and Crimson Tide. Check it out:

Time to run it back again tonight.
