Austin MacGinnis is BACK.

Kentucky’s field goal kicking G.O.A.T. is making his triumphant return to the Los Angeles Rams. One of three placekickers in this summer’s kicking competition, Mike Garafalo reports the Rams re-signed MacGinnis to the practice squad after waiving Sam Sloman, the rookie from Sean McVey’s alma mater of Miami Oh. that won the initial kicking battle.

Sloman got off to a bad start in LA. The Rams broke in SoFi Stadium with a doink off the upright that was so loud, the echo could be heard all the way at LAX. He missed extra points in consecutive games before one field goal was blocked on Monday Night Football, the final straw for Sloman.

MacGinnis is now the next man up for the Rams, waiting behind Kai Forbath, a free agent who was signed last week. The only thing you need to know about Forbath is that he’s a former Chicago Bears kicker. If he wasn’t good enough for the Bears, it won’t be long before MacGinnis is putting footballs between the pipes for L.A.
