The name of the place where Rupp resides might change, but Rupp Arena will remain Rupp Arena.
The Lexington Center is shopping for suitors to rename the convention center and the parking lot across the street, but Lexington Center President CEO Bill Owen
told the Herald-Leader it will not be selling the naming rights to Rupp Arena.
For those who worried Rupp might transform into the "Bigg Ass Rupp Arena" or the "Papa John's Rupp Arena and Helicopter Landing Pad," do not fret...for now. Naming rights are currently off the table, but do not be surprised to see them in the next substantial renovation plans.
