There were Plenty of Empty Seats at Kroger Field

The crowd for the coin toss.
There have been many times that Kentucky’s football stadium was near capacity when the Louisville Cardinals came to town, but today was not one of them.
Today’s announced attendance was 56,186, the lowest ever recorded for a UK home game in the Battle for the Governor’s Cup, and about 5,000 short of Kroger Field’s capacity. Considering that announced attendance numbers are usually on the high end, you can safely say it was a disappointing turnout.
