Screen Shot 2015-06-09 at 10.19.16 AM Horse racing got a much-needed boost on Saturday when American Pharoah became the first horse in 37 years to win the Triple Crown. Secretariat still holds the record for the fastest Belmont at 2:24, but American Pharoah actually had a faster final quarter, finishing the last 440 yards 0.68 seconds quicker than Big Red. What would it be like if the two horses raced? Of course, we'll never know, but the Wall-Street Journal put together this cool split screen video of the two running in the Belmont side by side: According to Bob Baffert, American Pharoah's last race will be the Breeder's Cup at Keeneland on October 31, the same day Kentucky plays Tennessee at Commonwealth Stadium. If that actually happens, what a weekend to be in Lexington. UPDATE: Speaking of American Pharoah, the new Sports Illustrated cover is out and it's fantastic.
