Ready for today's smheadline? This one comes from Bell County, former stomping grounds of one Matt Jones, and, apparently, some not so intelligent prison guards. Early this morning, three Bell County jail inmates escaped...by walking through an open door. According to the Herald-Leader, Pineville Police Chief Bill Matthews said the jail was having heating and air conditioning problems, so the staff propped open a door and put an industrial fan in the hall to cool things off. Three inmates -- Gary Mills, Raymond Farr Jr. and Bobby Holman -- were in the showers, noticed the open door, and simply walked out of it. As of 3 p.m. this afternoon, they are still at large. Now, the real question here is, if the inmates were in the showers, are they on the run only in towels and flip flops? Or did they risk taking the time to put their clothes on? Either way, Bell County's making Matt proud today. [H-L]
