It's a pretty great time to be a fan of UK athletics. Not just because we won the National Championships (although that is quite nice), but also because of the success of the school's other sports, including women's hoops, baseball, tennis, cheerleading, and many others. The folks over at Capital One thought so too, vaulting Kentucky to number two in their current men's standings. The national championship earned 60 points for UK in the men's standings, lifting the school all the way to second with 66 points, trailing only North Carolina. In the women's standings, UK is tied for 23rd place with Virginia, one of only eight schools in the NCAA to rank in the top 25 of both men's and women's standings. The winning schools will receive a combined $400,000 in student-athlete scholarships and the Capital One Cup trophy at the ESPY awards in July. I see you, Mitch Barnhart... ...I also see today's podcast, which was live from Keeneland this morning. Matt and Drew took in the lovely ambiance and Matt asked a jockey the all-important question: do horses know they're racing? If a tree falls in the forest and no one's around to hear it, does it make a sound?
