Today on KSR: Ryan Lemond (Hopefully) Keeps his Shirt On

by: Nick Roush07/25/18@RoushKSR
The KSR Summer Tour is getting a little weird in western Kentucky.  Hopefully the people in Paducah aren't subjected to shirtless Ryan Lemond this morning at Academy Sports and Outdoors.

Kahlil Whitney is Making Moves

In one week Kahlil Whitney went from under-the-radar UK target, to the hottest name on the Kentucky basketball recruiting scene.  Over the weekend John Calipari watched Whitney play twice.  Since then, things have moved fast. Whitney's father told ESPN he will visit Kentucky's campus August 3-5, just a few days after small forward Dontaie Allen makes the trip to Lexington.  The news broke not long after Whitney sent a cryptic Tweet that "The end is near."  If you read his previous comments about UK and connect the dots, Whitney could be a Wildcat before you know it. http://kentuckysportsradio.com/main/kahlil-whitney-things-to-know/

A New KSR Podcast

As we creep out of the doldrums of the summer sports season, KSR has added another podcast to a packed lineup.  In the first episode of Hardly Committed, T.J. Walker breaks down Kahlil Whitney's game, answers your UK basketball recruiting questions and debuts the first podcast within a podcast. New episodes of Hardly Committed will air each week.  If you have any questions or feedback for the show, feel free to send suggestions to the host or the producer (sorry, Benny Snell has me talking in third person).

Headline-Makers

Another KSR podcast, one you should already be subscribed to, has created quite a bit of buzz around the sports world.  Last week's interview with Enes Kanter caught the eye of the four-letter network.  Yesterday it was a featured topic on Around the Horn. https://twitter.com/Aaron_Torres/status/1021884265229762560 The Aaron Torres Sports Podcast really is the podcast that is sweeping America.  Yesterday he spoke to Jared Lorenzen in an interview you don't want to miss.

Poythress has a New Team

Former Kentucky power forward Alex Poythress is heading to the ATL.  After spending the 2017-18 season with the Indiana Pacers, Poythress signed a two-way contract with the Hawks.  He'll spend most of his time in the G-League, but the two-way deal ensures he'll get a significant shot with the rebuilding Atlanta Hawks.

Victor Espinoza Sidelined

The Hall of Fame jockey who rode American Pharoah to a Triple Crown was recently injured when his horse collapsed during a training exercise.  Sunday's fall fractured a vertebrae in Espinoza's neck and will keep him off the track for at least six weeks.

Booker's Dad Can Ball

We all heard Melvin Booker used to be quite the baller, but I don't think anybody knew he could still shoot the lights out of the gym. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5QW6YQa_LA&feature=youtu.be [mobile_ad]
