Former Florida Atlantic walk-on Tony Johnson went from a productive receiver in the American Athletic Conference in 2023 to a top option for good Big 12 passing offense at Cincinnati in 2024. Could the Central Florida native turn in a big year for Kentucky in 2025.

UK is making a push for the Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard product. Tony Johnson entered the transfer portal last week and is now working on getting a visit to Lexington scheduled. The wideout posted 48 receptions for 449 yards last season.

“Kentucky and Florida State are both in the market for a transfer wide receiver this spring,” writes Pete Nakos.” Sources tell On3 that the Wildcats and Seminoles are currently vying for one of the top available wide receivers in the transfer portal.

Tony Johnson has entered the transfer portal for the second time and brings with him 108 career receptions. The veteran has been used mostly as a slot receiver during his playing career. Could Johnson provide some help for the Kentucky offense.

The Cats are looking hard for wide receiver help during this spring transfer portal window.
