A top 10 matchup in Lexington is moving into a prime TV slot. This Sunday's matchup between the No. 10 Kentucky Wildcats Women's Basketball Team (9-1) and the No. 5 South Carolina Gamecocks (7-1) has been moved from a 1:00 p.m. EST tipoff on ESPN2 to a 5:00 p.m. EST tipoff on ESPN. It'll be a home game for the 'Cats inside of the historic Memorial Coliseum. https://twitter.com/KentuckyWBB/status/1346485653601722370 The schedule change was announced on Tuesday morning, not long after Rhyne Howard, head coach Kyra Elzy, and the entire Wildcat squad were all separately honored by the media for an impressive 2-0 start to SEC play. Kentucky took down No. 10 Arkansas last Thursday at home before traveling to Starkville where they beat No. 12 Mississippi State on Sunday. South Carolina entered the 2020-21 season as the preseason favorite to win the SEC (Kentucky was tabbed to finish second) and have performed relatively well through eight games. The Gamecocks' sole loss on the year came against the currently No. 3 ranked N.C. State Wolfpack, 54-46. Outside of that, South Carolina has picked up wins against top 25 opponents in Gonzaga and Iowa State while starting the SEC portion of the season with a 2-0 record, picking up wins against Florida and Georgia. Make sure to adjust your Sunday schedule, because you've got some afternoon basketball to watch.
