Top '24 prospect Karter Knox receives offer from Kentucky MBB

Could another member of the Knox family eventually find his way to Lexington?
On Wednesday night, Karter Knox, the younger brother of former Kentucky forward Kevin Knox, received an offer from the Kentucky Wildcats. Karter is the fourth member of the 2024 class to pick up a scholarship opportunity from UK since the contact period opened at 12:01 a.m. EST early Wednesday morning. In the last 24 hours, Kentucky has extended offers to four of the top ’24 recruits: PG Ian Jackson, SG Tre Johnson, SG Isaiah Elohim, and now Knox.
Clocking in at 6-foot-5, 180 pounds, Knox is considered the No. 14 overall rising high school junior by the On3 Consensus. The shooting guard also received offers from Kansas and Texas on Wednesday.
KSR had the chance to speak with Knox earlier this month at the Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas. At the time, he said he wasn’t hearing much from the Kentucky staff up to that point. However, he was already familiar with the program from his older brother’s playing days as a Wildcat.
Louisville is a school already involved with Knox, extending him an offer on May 31. The new head coach of the Cardinals is Kenny Payne, who was once an assistant on John Calipari’s staff while Kevin Knox was on the roster.

“Growing up before Kevin committed to Kentucky, I was not really watching Kentucky at all,” Knox told KSR. “But when Kevin went there — Coach Cal treats everyone like family, he treated me like family. And coach KP, Kenny Payne. It was kind of a blessing that (Kevin) went there because obviously he got better.”
At this point last year, Kentucky had only offered one rising junior. The staff appears to be taking a more aggressive approach in their recruiting efforts this time around.
