Trae Young is one of the best Oklahoma Sooners to ever come through Norman, his one-and-done season in college as good as it gets back in 2017-18. The McDonald’s All-American averaged 27.4 points and 8.7 assists per game en route to the Wayman Tisdale Award for National Freshman of the Year, breaking the Big 12 record for most points scored by a freshman ever, beating the mark previously held by Kevin Durant and Michael Beasley.

That guy knows ball, clearly. And he’s an Otega Oweh fan — as most are these days.

Now a four-time NBA All-Star, Young was watching his old school in the SEC Tournament on Thursday, celebrating Jeremiah Fears’ impressive performance as a fellow one-and-done rookie star at OU.

“BOOMER SOONER!!!! Jeremiah Fears y’all!!” he wrote.

Then Otega Oweh happened, the former Sooner hitting his second game-winner in two tries against his old school, finishing the left-handed runner in the final seconds to send OU home from the SEC Tournament.

Young had no choice but to give credit where it’s due following Oweh’s 27-point, five-assist, four-rebound performance in Nashville.

“….omg Oweh hates OU man!! Haha … great shot Killa,” he said.
