The city of Memphis is being painted a different shade of blue this weekend.

The sixth annual Iverson Classic high school All-Star event began earlier this week and culminates with Saturday’s matchup between the top high school boys hoopers in the country. Kentucky Men’s Basketball boasts two commits down in Memphis, Cason Wallace and Chris Livingston, who are already down there practicing for the game, but head coach Kyra Elzy’s Women’s squad is sending even more future Wildcats to the Classic.

A trio of incoming freshmen that includes Amiya Jenkins, Saniah Tyler, and Kennedy Cambridge will suit up for the Women’s Showcase, which is set for Friday, April 29 with a 7:00 p.m. EST tipoff. Jenkins, who won 2022 Kentucky Miss Basketball out of Anderson County, will suit up for Team DYNASTY while Tyler and Cambridge will play as teammates for Team ROYALTY. Unfortunately, the game will not be available for live stream.

Jenkins and Tyler are both considered four-star recruits from the class of 2022, according to ESPN. Cambridge is the most recent Kentucky commit, choosing the ‘Cats in late March.

Looking at Jenkins, the 5-foot-10 wing from the Bluegrass State has long been considered one of the top players in the area. She’s a top 100 recruit in the nation and picked Kentucky back in October over the likes of Tennessee, Rutgers, Eastern Kentucky, Penn State, Belmont, Dayton, and Virginia Tech.

Moving on to Tyler, the 5-foot-6 point guard out of Incarnate Word (MO) is another four-star and is considered one of the top 25 lead guards from her class. She was tabbed as the 2022 Metro Player of the Year after helping guide her squad to a third consecutive state championship. Tyler chose Kentucky over Arizona State and Tennessee.

Last but not least, Cambridge is the most recent addition to coach Elzy’s current five-woman recruiting class. The 5-foot-8 combo guard out of Nashville, TN committed to Kentucky last month over Auburn and Ole Miss. Like Tyler, Cambridge also led her high school (Ensworth) to a title in the Division II-AA state tournament. She comes from a dedicated basketball family, too — her brother Devan is in the transfer portal after three years at Auburn, her sister Jordyn is at Vanderbilt, and her younger sister Jaloni is a five-star class of 2024 prospect.

This event won’t be the last high-level All-Star game for Jenkins, in particular. She was recently named a participant in the upcoming Kentucky-Indiana All-Star Game, which is set for June 10-11. Jenkins will team up for the Kentucky side alongside Shelby Valley’s Cassidy Rowe, who is also committed to the ‘Cats and will join the program this summer with the rest of the group.

Good luck to all the future ‘Cats!
