IMG_0359 Execution Kept the Offense from Extending Drives The biggest difference from the first and and second half was execution. "In anything, it’s details. It’s everything. It’s coaching. It’s fundamentals. It’s them taking care of their business, maybe a play call," Eddie Gran said. When the momentum shifts, the coaches and players have to do a better job at handling it. On Florida's Defense  Not surprising but, Florida has a good defense (again) this year. Gran believes that Florida has a top ten defense.  "Their front four are really, really powerful and quick, athletic," Gran said. "When you talk about a top 10 defense, they’re doing something right. You know, normal Florida.” Drew Barker is also aware of their defensive line. "There going to challenge us. I mean there gonna to get up in our face," Drew Barker said. "It's going to be great to see how we react. It's going to be a great opportunity for us. But there definitely a very good defense, traditional for a defense that likes to get after you." Emphasis on the Run Game Will Never Change Boom Williams and Jojo Kemp are two of the top running backs in the SEC, and Kentucky has to run the ball to be successful. Running the ball well will help keep the defense of the field. Kentucky did this well in the first half, but not in the second. "We were taking what they gave us and it was great and everything in the first half and short drives are okay then when you’re scoring. But you’re right, when you’re not scoring and you go three-and-out, you can’t do that," Gran said. Boom Williams Ran the Ball Well An injury held Williams back a little in preseason camp. The coaches were able to see Williams go full-on for the first time against Southern Miss and were pleased. "I thought he hit the holes a little bit better, didn’t dance around. I really did. He’s got to work on his protection and keep continuing to develop that," Gran said. The Team Has Moved On The players and coaches have officially put the Southern Miss game behind them. The emphasis this week in on themselves and Florida. "We have to, especially in this league," Gran said. "It doesn’t get any easier. You’ve got to put it behind you there’s 12 more games left." Barker is the leader of this team and he knows the importance of moving on as well. "We know we lost. We know there is nothing we can do to change it. So, we might as well just not sit there and sulk about it. We might as well just come out here and work," Barker said.
