"Turnover" will the magic word on Saturday

I think most UK fans are at least a little on edge heading into tomorrow's shakedown with the South Carolina Gamecocks and even the one's who haven't given up and unjustly freaked out after one loss have some serious concerns. South Carolina is a veteran team that has good balance overall and a go-to playmaker in the wee little Devan Downey. Assuming that Kentucky has their defense focus again and the outing against Ole Miss was a fluke and not indicitive of a change, the x-factor once again will likely be on Kentucky's most visible flaw: turnovers. Against the South Carolina, this could become an even bigger key. The Gamecocks are the SEC leaders in turnover margin with +6 per game while the Cats are.....well....waaaaaay down there at the bottom of the conference at -2 per contest. Believe it or not, the Cats actually had one of their better games of the year in the loss to the Rebels in terms of turnovers, committing only 10. But, South Carolina will present a formidable test because they are efficient on offense and opportunistic on defense, making every possession valuable. The Cats need a concerted team effort to keep the ball in their own hands. Can they do it?
