Mock draft season is heating up three weeks away from the NFL Draft.

While Kentucky’s pro prospects travel across the country to visit NFL teams, ESPN’s Todd McShay and Mel Kiper are forecasting who will be picked where. For the first time they go two rounds deep, making room for another Wildcat to make an appearance.

Josh Allen is up first, predicted by both Kiper and McShay to become a New York Jet. Kiper believes Allen will fill a need, while McShay wouldn’t be surprised to see them trade the third overall pick.

Kiper: Even after splashing cash in free agency, the Jets have a hole at edge rusher. Allen would help immediately.

McShay: Watch for the Jets to trade back with a team in search of a quarterback. That’s what I’d do here, if possible. If they don’t, it’s a tougher call, but Allen fits this defense.

A little further down McShay’s board you will find cornerback Lonnie Johnson Jr. Some believed there was potential to move into the first round, but McShay has Johnson currently locked in at No. 54 overall to the Houston Texans.

Kevin Johnson is gone, and new Texan Bradley Roby is a slot guy, so Johnson would help replenish the secondary.

A lot can change over the next 22 days.
