Tyler Smith....the Name on all Tongues
When I was at the Kentucky-Florida game on Saturday, the name on everyone’s lips was Tyler Smith. Folks wondered if he was actually at the game, was he having fun, what was he wearing? These were the questions dominating the media room and asked by many fans as well. Why all the fuss?
Well for one thing, he is an athletic scorer, something this team definitely lacks. But most importantly, he is a player that is rated relatively high at a time when many think the UK program has no good players (a contention I still dont buy). So what is the story on the small forward?
Well there is a lot of scuttlebutt that a decision could come any time in the next couple of days. I have heard from a couple of sources that he is down tp UK and Memphis and that the decision could literally come this week. Calipari wants to get him to Memphis for a visit, but it isnt clear that this will happen. Thus a decision this week likely brings good news for the Cats. It would be a HUGE momentum boost to this program if it could have a good week in Nashville and get a Smith commitment.
If it happens, we will be the first to let you know….ok well maybe we wont be the first, but we will sure act like it.
