IMG_2057 Good morning, everyone. It's Friday (yay!) and as we gear up for the last weekend without college football, let's all get really jealous of this group of UK Fans of the Day who packed their UK gear for a wedding down in Barcelona. Blue got in there on the beach. It looks like a good time and now I want to go to Barcelona. Why didn't anyone invite me to this wedding? I own UK gear. I like weddings. I have a passport. Someone invite me to Barcelona. Or any wedding anywhere for that matter. E-mail me for a trip to Barcelona or a wedding. Let's go...   Mark Stoops will be a guest on KSR today. Yesterday, Calipari. Today, Stoops. The Kentucky Sports Radio guest seat is hot this week and today the guys wrap up the summer tour with an appearance from UK's head ball coach at the live remote in Lexington. They'll be at All Sports in Fayette Mall from 10-12 and you should get in there to hear the show and to enter to win tickets. Stoops is scheduled to be on to start the second hour. John Calipari had a lot to say yesterday. We heard from Coach Cal for the first time in a long time Thursday morning when he held a press conference on campus and then made an appearance on KSR. A full recap with video and audio can be found here. For an even shorter version, let's run through the quick hitters:

-- Proceeds from Sunday's softball game will go to Baton Rouge relief -- Derek Willis will not be suspended -- Bam Adebayo will be a beast -- Emphasis on dribble-drive this season -- Pleased with Isaiah Briscoe this summer; pleased with everyone, really -- He considers himself a "gatherer" of former Wildcats -- He doesn't read newspapers; he backs over them in the driveway

Check it out. Kentucky football added a three-star cornerback. Michael Nesbitt of Ft. Lauderdale picked the Cats over LSU, Auburn, UCF, Louisville, South Carolina, Arkansas, Pitt, Maryland and West Virginia to become Mark Stoops' 13th commitment in the 2017 class. Yahtzee! We released a new KSR Football Podcast. The quality's a little subpar, to say the least, but we put out our second podcast of the preseason last night. Jeremy Jarmon joined Nick, Freddie and me on this one to look ahead to the season and to tell some of our favorite stories from UK football's past. Give it a listen here but don't be too harsh on Nick for driving to Lexington without the podcast equipment and then forgetting to turn his own mic on for the entire show. We all have those days. Nick just has them more often than most. Had a blast at Thursday's Child's "Night With The Stars" last night. Check out this man candy that was at Thursday's Child's big fundraiser last night in Lexington. Is that the cast of Magic Mike 3? thursdays-child On a serious note, Thursday's Child is non-profit organization that supports children and families around Kentucky that are served by the Special Needs Adoption Program. Freddie and Ryan are on the board and I appreciate them having me out to help the cause. I created my own A&W burger and you can try it for free before it's available next month. A&W Restaurants gave me the honor of creating my own burger for their menu at all Lexington locations and they're giving a sneak peek to those interested in trying it... for free. Simply go to http://bit.ly/DrewBurgerVIP for more details on how you can get the golden ticket to try my creation next week. It's two fresh, never frozen beef patties topped with house-made spicy papa sauce, jalapenos, onion straws, cheese, lettuce and tomato on a caramelized bun. You're welcome. The Final Four of Tyler's food bracket will be announced today. Give me pigs in a blanket versus queso in the championship game. And then give me pigs in a blanket and queso. Get on out to All Sports. Go!
