ukfanofday4 The biggest story of the week in the world of football recruiting was the offer extended to 3-star safety Ahman Ross.  It's a big deal because he's buddies with Mac Jones, holding down the defensive side of the ball for The Bolles School. It's not like the Cats are offering a walk-on spot to his friend to make sure Mac gets to UK.  This kid ain't no joke, decommitting from Miami earlier this week.  He also holds offers from Florida State, USF, Louisville, Indiana and FAU.

Other Offers Extended This Week

Jacob Lacey:  Lacey just finished his freshman year at South Warren High School in Western Kentucky.  The defensive tackle helped anchor the line for a team that went undefeated in 4A with one of the best defenses in the entire state, allowing only 110.8 yards per game.  Jon Schlarman was fifth coach to offer Lacey, following Louisville, Tennessee, Cincinnati and EKU.    Highlights Warren J. Thompson:  The 6'4" wide receiver from Suffer, Fl. is already considered a 4-star prospect in the 2018 recruiting class.  He has nine offers total, many from the SEC.  His short list includes Tennessee, Florida, Miss. State, Iowa State, Penn State and Maryland.  Highlights B.J. Sharpe:  A 3-star strong-side defensive end from the home of Wilder Treadway in Macon, Ga., Sharpe's recruiting story is curious.  A member of the Class of 2017, his only offer was from Miami of Ohio when Derrick Ansley of the Alabama Crimson Tide extended a scholarship offer.  UK was his fifth offer, following Miss. State.  Highlights Cedrick Dort: A 3-star 2017 cornerback from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Kentucky was Dort's 20th offer.  The Cats are his only SEC offer, with many of his interested schools hailing from the Big 10.  Highlights Jordon Scott:  The 3-star defesinve lineman from Largo, Florida is one offer away from the quarter century mark.  The senior-to-be's 247 Crystal Ball points toward Florida State.  He also has offers from Tennessee, Florida and Louisville.  Highlights Phil Hoskins:  A Toledo native, Hoskins has another year at Highland Community College in Kansas before taking his talents to the Division I level.  The Wildcats were the 6'5" 275-pound defensive tackle's 15th offer. There are a variety of factors you can view from afar that indicate a player's caliber.  For junior college defensive lineman, you know they're the Real Deal Holyfield if they've been offered by Mississippi State.  Hoskins has been offered by Mississippi State.  Highlights D.J. Ivey: A 2018 cornerback from Homestead, Fl. Highlights Jabreel Stephens:  This guy is a TANK.  The 2017 pass-rushing defensive end from Tampa is an athletic 6'4" 235 pounds, also proficiently playing on the other side of the ball at tight end.  The Cats were his first SEC offer, following not far behind WKU and UofL.  Highlights Andrew Cunningham: A 2018 running back from Cambridge Christian in Tampa, Florida, the Cats are Cunningham's seventh offer.  Louisville is in the mix with many other mid-majors, but he's received plenty of attention from the power programs who will wait until he's a little older before offering.  If you enjoy explosive, North/South running backs, you better watch his  Highlights Randall Haynie:  The Ft. Lauderdale native is a 3-star lengthy cornerback in the class of 2017.  He already has 16 offers with Michigan, Duke and Vanderbilt at the top of his list.  Highlights Ken Montgomery:  The Tampa cornerback from the class of 2018 already has 11 offers under his belt, most notably USC.  Highlights Ahmarean Brown:  The 2019 WR/DB wins this week's best name award.  A Tampa native, Brown's five offers following his freshman year aren't from scrubs: Michigan State, Mizzou, Southern Miss and USF.  Highlights
