UK Homecoming Weekend Schedule

by:Adam Schilt10/19/12
Welcome to UK Homecoming 2012! This is the busiest sports weekend that Big Blue Nation has had in quite awhile, so here are all of the home events this weekend that you won't want to miss. Friday, October 19 2:00: Swimming vs. Indiana and Tennessee The swimming and diving team is currently taking on two huge rivals in Lancaster. Huge meets for both men and women. 6:30: Women's Soccer vs. South Carolina The UK women's soccer team is killing it right now, coming off an undefeated weekend. Come support them in their quest to clinch a conference tournament berth. A plus: the game will be televised on FSN South. 7:00: Volleyball vs. Arkansas You will have to decide between soccer and volleyball (I'll be over at the soccer complext...come say hi), but either option will provide a great chance to come out and support the Cats. There are two options for you; you have no excuse. Saturday, October 20 7:00: Football vs. Georgia UK's football team is playing Georgia tomorrow night. And by playing, I mean that there is a 100% chance that both teams will be on the same field with a football. Still, come out and show some love for Big Blue on Homecoming weekend. It's a late game, so at least tailgating will be fun. Look for me. I'll be the one in blue in the student section. No, really. The one. Sunday, October 21 7:30 am: Rifle vs. Army The UK rifle team is consistently one of the best teams in the country, and this year is no exception. The team will take on #4 Army bright and early Sunday morning. Bring a pillow and some earplugs. 1:30: Volleyball vs. LSU Volleyball returns to action against the Bayou Bengals. The Cats are on a hot streak right now, so come and help them keep it going well into the conference season. 2:30: Women's Soccer vs. Auburn The second game of women's soccer weekend homestand, the Cats will attempt to move up in the conference standings against Auburn. Even if you hate soccer, it's worth coming out just to see Coach Lipsitz on the sideline. 5:00: Men's Soccer vs. Florida International The men's soccer team, fresh off of a huge victory at 10-1-1 Marshall, will take on C-USA opponenet FIU to cap off Homecoming 2012. This team, under the direction of first-year head coach Johan Cedergren, is a lot of fun to watch, and they have improved throughout the season. And there you have it. It's a busy weekend for the true Blue fan. Happy Homecoming and Go Cats. @AdamSchiltKSR
