UK swimmer Asia Seidt becomes first Wildcat to be named NCAA Woman of the Year

The program's most decorated swimmer--male or female--is going out on top in her senior season.
Kentucky Swim and Dive athlete Asia Seidt has been named the NCAA Woman of the Year, becoming the first student-athlete in Wildcat history to earn the honors. A 21-time All-American, 15-time SEC medalist (both school records), and four-time Gold medalist, Seidt will go down as one of Kentucky's most impressive female athletes of all-time.

The announcement was made live on ESPN earlier Friday night after a list that started with over 600 ladies was trimmed down to nine, three from each division of the NCAA. Not only did Seidt excel in the pool, but she will also graduate from UK Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA and a B.S. in Kinesiology. She is currently attending the school's Physical Therapy Graduate Program. Her entire list of achievements as both an athlete and student would take up the next 1,000 words of space. Seidt holds more records than any male or female swimmer in Kentucky history.
