fan1 Kentucky plays Notre Dame tonight, but not until you get your afternoon notes... -- Kentucky football finished the season with a dismal 6-6 record but the Wildcats were undefeated against teams coached by the conference's coach of the year.  No, not Robbie Caldwell but good guess (you had a 50/50 shot.)  The Ol' Ball Coach Steve Spurrier was named SEC Coach of the Year today by a panel of visor enthusiasts and people who vote for these things.  It's the seventh time Spurrier has won the award and his second at South Carolina. -- For those of you who gamble and have no regard for the mortgage or your children's college fund, Kentucky is a 5-point favorite tonight against those Hunchbacks from Notre Dame.  Kentucky is athletic enough to win this game with ease but I think you'd be crazy to bet on it.  Anything can happen with this team - as we've seen.  It just depends on which Knight/Jones shows up and if the team can stay out of foul trouble.  With that being said, I think we're going to see another Freshman of the Week type performance out of Terrence.  I'll say he scores 27 tonight.  You heard it here. -- Jodie Meeks has found a home in the NBA and is doing work in Philly.  Meeks has scored 26 and 16 in his last two games and he's averaging 17 points in his three starts for the Sixers.  Coach Doug Collins praised Jodie for his ability to move off the ball and said his game is setting up opportunities for Andre Igoudala and Elton Brand.  Meeks' 7-10 three-point shooting performance in the 26-point game certainly didn't hurt the team either. -- Antoine Walker makes his debut in the NBA D-League tonight for the Idaho Stampede.  I've heard rumors that Toine's introduction will rival the spectacle that was Kenny Powers return to baseball for the Charros.  I mean, their lives are basically the same.  Some have even said Eastbound & Down is based on the life of Antoine Walker.  Think about it.  (s/o Bearded Guy) -- John Wall threw Derek Fisher's ish last night on a breakaway. He also gave Kobe Bryant the Mutombo finger earlier the game. -- Despite the cold front sweeping the south and freezing the fresh Florida soil, two red ferns have begun to grow on the sideline at Ben Hill Griffin where Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer once stood together.  No one can explain how the flowers came to be but many believe they are blossoming on love, affection, admiration, and memories of jump passes. The Cats and the Tusslin' Irish tip-off at 9:30. Matt will be turning his live blog swag on tonight at 9:00. Go Cats.
