Updated NBA2K ratings show love to former Kentucky players

There is no more scientifically accurate scale to assess the skillset of basketball players than NBA2K ratings. Forget advanced analytics, in-depth scouting reports, and expert assessments. When you want to know who is best amongst NBA stars, it is best to heed the opinion of a video game, and NBA2K loves them some former Kentucky players.
The virtual gurus over at 2K just updated their player ratings and rightfully acknowledged Kentucky players among the league’s most talented. Former ‘Cats make up an astonishing 12 out of the top 100 highest-rated players, including eight in the top 30, and two in the top 10.
The average overall rating for Kentucky players is 80.3. Compare that to Duke, who has three fewer active players than the ‘Cats, who have an average overall rating of 78.6.

According to 2K, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (8th overall) is the best Wildcat at the moment with an overall rating of 95, just barely edging out Devin Booker (9th overall) who shares the same overall score. What is impressive about SGA is that he is the only player in the top 30 who isn’t rated at least 80 in either 3-point shooting or dunks.
Some of the biggest movers since the beginning of the year include Shaedon Sharpe who jumped four overall points from 78 to 82 and Cason Wallace who also saw a four-point uptick from 72 to 76.
