Vince Marrow Tries (and Fails) to Throw his Ls Up

The day has finally come. Vince Marrow is recruiting on behalf of the Louisville Cardinals. We all knew this day would come, and it looks even weirder than you imagined.
Shortly after Marrow made the shocking decision to flip rivalry allegiances, he made a trip to Columbus to visit his daughter. Just by happenstance, he ran into a Louisville fan in the lobby of his hotel who asked for a picture. Drew Deener asked Marrow how it felt to throw his Ls up after spending so many years throwing Ls down.
“It was natural.”
After seeing the following photo, I think we can all agree that it does not look natural.

That doesn’t look like the doofy Ls Up we see regularly from Louisville fans. One might describe it as a deformed peace sign.
To be as accurate as possible, we gotta go to one of the great scenes from Quentin Tarantino’s catalogue. In Inglorious Basterds, undercover Americans are outed as spies because one uses his pointer finger, middle finger, and ring finger when asking for three glasses at the bar. An actual German would have used his thumb, pointer finger and middle finger when making a sign for “three.” That’s Vince Marrow’s Ls Up.

It’s a real shame because Marrow had his signature pose down pat. In almost every picture you saw of him, even at his star-studded wedding, he’s pointing at the person he’s posing with. It’s a great look that he doesn’t seem to be able to quit.

There’s one more thing worth mentioning about this photo. It was taken with Jett Jerwers, a 2027 running back from Ohio. Jerwers got Marrow’s attention by clocking in the 4.3 range during his 40-yard dash at Kentucky, the last event Marrow attended as a Kentucky assistant coach.
