WATCH: Football Fashion tips with Kentucky DL Deone Walker
We all know and love Deone Walker as the chaos creator on the Kentucky defensive line. What you may not know is the Detroit native is well-versed in style on the gridiron.
On a hot day in September, Walker was wearing long sleeves. That sounds uncomfortable, but it’s a sacrifice he’s willing to make to look great on Saturdays.
“It’s fashion. I like my outfit with the high socks. Everything went together,” Deone told KSR.
That may sound silly, but once upon a time a wise man once said: “If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good.”
Walker wants to look good on the football field. That’s ultimately why the 6-foot-5, 335-pound big man chose to wear No. 0 for the Wildcats.
“I just wanted a single-digit and that was the only one open. I wanted the drip,” he joked.
It will not be the last time we see Walker rocking long sleeves on the Kentucky football field. Even though he’s from a cold-weather city, he HATES playing in the cold. That’s a big reason why decide to move down to Lexington to play in the SEC.

Deone Walker talks Kentucky-Georgia
Before the Cats travel down to Georgia to take on the No. 1 ranked team in the country, Walker spent some time discussing the matchup with On3’s Andy Staples. He’s preparing to see double teams from the Dawgs. It’s his least favorite thing in the world, however, Walker has learned how to cope with the extra attention.
“I really matured out of it,” Walker told Staples. “The first couple of games, of course, you’re gonna get frustrated because you want to go show everybody what you can do. But the coaches really told me, like, hey, if there’s two people on you, that’s eight on 11, or eight on 10.”
In addition to serious football talk, he got silly with Staples too. It’s an interview you don’t want to miss.
