In the latest installment of their “My First Million” YouTube series, GQ Sports gave fans an inside look at former Wildcat PJ Washington’s basketball career and spending habits. Washington was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the 12th pick in last year’s draft and signed a 4-year, $17.8 million contract.

Among the topics Washington talked about:

  • For each triple double he had in high school, his father rewarded him with $100
  • How cool it was that he and Tyler Herro, who GQ Sports featured in the same series several months ago, went back-to-back in the draft
  • The financial plan he, his father, and his financial planner worked out
  • His first purchase of two apartments in Charlotte—one for himself and one for his family
  • His love for cars
  • Who he believes are his most-fashionable teammates
  • His dog Zeus, who he says is his best purchase yet
  • The best meal his personal chef cooks
  • His advice for the the next class of NBA rookies
