Max Hairston was the breakout player of the year for the Wildcats in 2023. Now the Kentucky cornerback is on everyone’s radar, selected by attendees at SEC Media Days as a First Team All-SEC player. What more is in store for this Cat? Let’s watch him work.

On day two of Kentucky football camp, Hairston was wired for sound at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility. It served as an excellent reminder that he switched his number from No. 31 to No. 1 this offseason.

Rocking a large pink mouthpiece, you’ll see the Kentucky cornerback roll through individual drills. Remember the giant exercise balls you played with as a kid? They’re still using those to prepare players for SEC football action.

In one of the team periods, he lined up against Dane Key a few times. Unfortunately, no fireworks followed. We did see how Hairston interacts with his teammates.

“Before we get to even going against the receivers, get y’all mind right, right here, right now,” he said. “Don’t let no fatigue mess your rep up, don’t let not knowing mess your rep up. Let’s get money today.”

Snapshots from Practice

The energy will be amplified for practice No. 3 this afternoon. Members of the media will be on the grounds to capture video and photos of the action. After it unfolds Adam Luckett and the KSR crew will share what they saw in a Rapid Reaction on the KSR YouTube Channel. Until then, enjoy a few more photos from practice No. 2.
