WATCH: A recap of Kentucky MBB's gold medal win over Team Canada

Kentucky men’s basketball has been back in the States for a few days now, but we’re all still thinking about their run last week at the 2023 GLOBL JAM Tournament in Toronto, Canada.
Going up against U23 international competition, the Wildcats were clearly the best group of the bunch during the four-game event, which included teams from Canada (which UK beat twice, the second coming on Sunday to win gold), Germany, and Africa. Kentucky won all four games by an average of 15 points and picked up a gold medal along the way.
Throughout the event, UK averaged 91.8 points per game while shooting over 47 percent from the field. Of the team’s 142 total made field goals, 103 of them came off an assist. That means over 72 percent of the team’s made shots came off a pass from a teammate — an elite number. Yes, it was mid-July basketball against inferior competition, but it was still an encouraging trip for what this team can do in the upcoming 2023-24 season.

As we reflect on Kentucky’s undefeated run in Toronto — which included a pool party at Drake’s house during the team’s off day — we focus our eyes on the gold medal victory that capped off the event. The Wildcats smacked Team Canada for the second time, 89-72, and came back to Lexington with some new hardware.
Let’s soak in the experience one last time with the help of Kentucky Wildcats TV, which put together a highlight reel from that final game north of the border.
