For the first (and definitely not the last) time in his incredibly young basketball career, Reed Sheppard is off to play at Rupp Arena.

On Monday night, Sheppard and the North Laurel Jaguars took down the Knox Central Panthers in the championship game of the 13th Region Tournament by a final score of 69-56. Sheppard, a class of 2023 combo guard committed to play for the Kentucky Wildcats, exploded for 37 points in the process, shooting 13-24 from the field and a perfect 10-10 from the free-throw line. The top 25 player in the country also added 11 assists, six rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

North Laurel has now solidified its position in the UK Healthcare Boy’s Sweet 16, where they’ll face off against Pikeville on Wednesday, March 16 inside of Rupp Arena at 8:30 p.m. EST. The Jaguars were knocked out of the 13th Region Tournament by Knox Central the last two seasons but were finally able to get over that hump on Monday.

Check out Sheppard’s impressive performance below.
