Our good friends over at On3 have expanded the class of 2023 high school basketball rankings from a Top 50 to a Top 100. As a result, there was plenty of movement from top-to-bottom. This update is reflective of the prospect’s performances from their junior season as we move into the spring AAU sessions.

For the Kentucky Wildcats, there is plenty to discuss, but we have to start with the lone commit from the class of 2023: 6-foot-3 guard Reed Sheppard. The North Laurel (KY) product was dropped a few spots in the latest update, sliding down from No. 21 overall to No. 27 overall, still sitting on a high-four-star status. Sheppard is about to embark on his first-ever Boys Sweet 16 State Tournament at Rupp Arena later this week.

Plenty of uncommitted Kentucky targets saw movement, too. One of the newer names to watch for, 6-foot-8 wing Ron Holland, jumped from No. 20 to No. 2 overall while 6-foot-7 wing Mookie Cook fell from No. 5 to No. 9. Additionally, 6-foot-8 wing J.J. Taylor dropped five spots to No. 12, 7-foot center Aaron Bradshaw moved up three spots to No. 19, and 6-foot-10 wing Matas Buzelis fell nine spots to No. 22.

The two of note who didn’t move at all were five-stars D.J. Wagner and Kwame Evans Jr., staying at No. 3 and No. 4 overall, respectively. Wagner, a 6-foot-3 combo guard, has been widely considered a Kentucky lean for years now. His Camden High School (NJ) squad recently won the New Jersey Group 2 state title. As for Evans the 6-foot-10 forward will suit up for Montverde Academy (FL) in the upcoming GEICO Nationals and has been receiving plenty of interest from the ‘Cats.

Elsewhere, a pair of in-state prospects made the Top 100: 6-foot-2 Ohio State commit George Washington III, who plays for Christian Academy of Louisville, rose 10 spots to No. 40 overall while 6-foot-6 Louisville commit Kaleb Glenn, who plays for Male, went from unranked to No. 54. Glenn will also participate in the Boys Sweet 16 State Tournament at Rupp Arena, which is set to begin on Wednesday morning.

Also of note, Bronny James, the son of NBA All-Star LeBron James, slid down 16 spots to No. 50. In total, 54 new names were inserted into the On3 Top 100, including three new five-stars in Kylan Boswell, Robert Dillingham, and Isaiah Collier.
