One of our regular callers to the Sports Mob in the afternoon is a guy named "Hink" and for the past few days, he has been asking me
why dont we think about Mike Montgomery? And for a while, I argued with him......Montgomery has only been at Stanford, not UK's style, etc. But then I thought about it.....and why not consider Mike? He won at Stanford, a school that takes academic requirements seriously and has a tougher time finding players. Fellow coaches say he is a genius when it comes to the Xs and Os of college basketball, and his teams always play with intelligence. He has fallen a bit off the radar screen thanks to his NBA problems, but Montgomery seems like he is still a good coach. Why not at least look at him?
