Arizona State quarterback Jayden Daniels committed to LSU, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Sunday. The California native will be eligible for spring practice and will arrive in Baton Rouge this month, according to Thamel.

Jayden Daniels tied for first in the Pac-12 with a 65.4% completion percentage to help Arizona State to an 8-5 record in 2021. He also totaled for 2,381 yards and 10 touchdowns, but threw 10 interceptions in 13 games.

At ASU, Jayden Daniels completed 62.4% of his passes for 6,025 yards and 32 touchdowns in 29 games over three years.

Out of high school from the class of 2019, Jayden Daniels was a four-star recruit and the No. 8-ranked recruit from the state of California, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Some pegged Daniels for Missouri, but he shot down those reports last month.

LSU offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock is one who values multiple aspects of quarterbacks when evaluating them. Daniels checks the box with some athleticism in his game.

“One would be arm talent. Very important that they have the ability to throw the ball in a way that can fit into tight windows in the SEC,” Denbrock said last month. “Secondly would be some athleticism. Ability to make plays with their feet, if possible. Where’s their football IQ? How much do they study the game, how much do they already know? How far can we take that knowledge in a short period of time if we need to get them on the field?”
